Something is better than nothing as the whole market is very different post 2020. Getting any hot selling or limited production vehicle in the current market for MSRP can be considered a decent deal.

We just bought a 23 LT1 6 speed car at the dealer that had a MSRP of $44,000 for the kid. We got the $750 rebate along with another $500 rebate for him being in college and they accepted GMS discount for a total of $3750 in discount.

I am not sure why somebody would be against rebates or any discount when purchasing a vehicle? We have only bought new when there were good rebates along with being able to use them with my GMS discount. By doing this we have never lost money on trades.

Dropping money on mods is a totally different scenario than purchasing a vehicle and what the payment along with total cost of the vehicle will be. We have only had this 6th gen less than 2 weeks and it already has had hood wrapped, exhaust, and purchased springs, sway bars, control arms that are sitting in boxes ready to install. None of these items add any value however when or if we decide to get rid of the car we wont be stuck with the loss of the value of the car along with the cost of all the mods.
