Question Is trying on helmets still a thing?

I'm in the Chicago-land area and am in need of new helmet.

I have a previous helmet to go off of, but is there somewhere to TRY THEM ON before i spend $800 on a new helmet?

Yes I'll use a head-sock and not contaminate their sh*t. lol

Just checking, Thanks!

LOL. I went to a local speed shop and they said "You just want to try on helmets and then order one on line for less. So no."

So I made my best guess and ordered on line. It worked.

I used to buy stuff from motocyclegear.com. I guess they combined all their fitting data into a new website called lidpicker.com. Using your measurement data, it basically tells you if you favor a round or oval head shape and then lists what helmet brands favor your head. I think Asian brands like HJC tend to be more round and European ones tend run more oval, generally. I had good luck with Scorpian and Nolan, too... so I dunno.

If you have a cyclegear near you, they have no problems with you trying on helmets. They will even help you to make sure it fits right.

I purchased mine off Amazon, RaceQuip they show you how to measure you head , need a soft type measure, I was skeptical but , got my helmet and fitment was very good , and returnable if wrong size .
