This has been an issue on these F1 SuperCar lines since 2012 with the F1 SuperCar G:2 tire that was installed on the 2012 ZL1. Besides being brought to light in the owner's manuals (that some obviously don't read), there are service bulletins on this happening.

Sorry SATIN, but you are WAY behind on this one. This was even an issue with 5th Gens, nothing new and PLENTY of proof and examples of these tires cracking in cold temps.

Correct. It's been discussed on plenty threads over on the Corvette Forum for plenty of years. Doesn't matter what brand. Michelins also crack. My ZL1 is parked til spring.

I had a Z07 Z06 in 2016 and if I remember they stopped producing those in the winter.

Corvette C7's were sold for years with Michelin summer only tires , there were reports of people receiving them cracked. It never stopped GM from shipping in the winter.

The C8 Z51 is sold with summer only tires, they ship all year round. Don't know why GM would treat Camaro's differently. Would be pretty expensive for GM to hold them back just because of tires, cash flow matters. GM doesn't get paid until the car shows up. The Camaro SS has summer only tires as well.

My Z06 Z07 had Michelin Pilot Super Sports and those orders were held up for cold weather back then. Those tires were almost slicks.

Believe the Z07 came with the Michelin Pilot Cup 2 - the Michelin Super Sports were standard on the Z51

1LE/ ZL1 production temporary suspension effective Nov 21



Effective Thursday, November 21, 2013, Chevrolet will temporarily suspend order processing for the 2014 Camaro ZL1 model and the SS Performance Package (RPO: 1LE) due to the effect of cold weather on the performance tires for these models. Again, it is only a temporary suspension that does not impact the Camaro LS, LT and SS models ordered without 1LE.

Order processing for the 2014 Camaro ZL1 and the SS Performance Package (RPO: 1LE) will resume on Tuesday, February 11, 2014.

The suspension of ordering will impact Camaro production from January 2014 to March 2014. It is expected any ZL1 or SS models with the Performance Package (RPO: 1LE) produced through December 2013 will be shipped to dealers.

At least they keep making them. Ford stops production of the Shelby’s and Mach 1 etc that have the cup 2 tires etc that may crack in cold weather.

My dealer here in Toronto told me 1LE Camaro orders are on constraint locally until late February due to the tires.
