Engine dressup

Looking to dress up the engine compartment. This company has some nice polished ss parts but, pricey. Not sure what I want to do but, might be interested in some of the parts. Not interested in doing everything you see in pics. What do you guys think, what if any parts do you think would look good but, without being too much? Definitely would not coverup the SC lid.

It is definitely, different. Not sure it is my cup of tea. But, I cannot say I have an engine compartment look like that at any of the car shows I have attended.

To each their own...

Too much bling for me Smokin!! IMHO it looks fine under the hood to me but it’s your Z so you can do what you want to do but I would spend the money on some performance parts instead of those crappy parts. Just my opinion so don’t take it wrong!

I appreciate the look you are going for and to set it apart from others at a car show. One other thing to consider is to do something to the throttle body cause looking at the pic it sticks out as being dirty and needs something. Since you went for the bling look, maybe get some mothers polish and polish it, or take it somewhere and have it powder coated.

I don't think the pictures at the top are the OP's car. Those pics show a blue car. I thought that the OP's was white.

I think he just used those pics as an example of what he is thinking of doing to his.

That's not my car in the pictures, I haven't done anything yet. I thought all the same things you guys are saying. Just want my engine dress up to look different from everybody else's. All I have is the rotofab for now don't plan on putting any other performance parts on.

personally, i just want some CF parts and call it a day, but getting them is a HUGE waiting game. Hard to believe nobody has the parts available. Right now i have the radiator support and coolant cover.

Yeah that's too much. For example, how many times do you need to be reminded that its a ZL1? It would be much more tasteful with less text and a few less pieces overall (still not my bag but I can understand the idea).

Here's my "dressed up" engine bay. I decided last winter to go with a red/mosiac black/carbon fiber theme. It gives the engine some pop while still retaining much of the factory appearance. I can't say it was cheap. Expect to spend some bucks if you plan to do any sort of engine bay dress-up.

Nice. This is much more tasteful, primarily because it is subtle (aka not gaudy or overdone).

One mistake I think folks do is they go overboard with chrome. Engine bay has to still looks like what it is---over cladding begins to look fake.
