New Carbon Fiber Shift Knob...

Replaced automatic shift knob with carbon fiber shift knob on my new Zl1 Convertible (less that 1k miles). Also added a matching CF steering wheel with Red leather (very OEM looking, with no LED or any of that stuff)...

but I also just noticed I'm getting a 'Shift To Park' message when car is already in park. If I push it forward within the tiny range of play in the shifter mechanism, it goes away.

Yeah the shift-to-park is a chronic GM reliability thing lately, 2022-2023 Acadia as an example, but there has been a lot of lawsuit crap out there across all their cars. Hopefully you have a compassionate dealer that isn't lawyered up. Lots of info you can google up.

Also...

I had the same shift-to-park issue on my 2019 A9 Chevy Blazer. The problem was a known defective harness which the dealer replaced under warranty. This was about 2 years ago and I haven’t had the problem since.

I replaced the stock shift knob on my M6 ZL1 with a carbon fiber one. Don’t know how different the directions are for the automatic versus the manual but I bet there is something going on with the harness that showed when you swapped shift knobs.

Might want to swap it back to stock if you take it in for warranty work.

I'll hopefully drive it this weekend if the 'ice bowl' passes, and take some pictures to post. I'm hoping it just goes away...
