The next slowest car also cost about twice as much lol. And prices only went up from there. It's a rather pointless comparison.

Did a mountain run this weekend with about 10 cars including a Porsche 911S Turbo ($210,000+) and an Audi R8 (another close to $200,000 car) and my 2020 2SS with MRC was holding it's own just fine considering it is less than 1/4 the cost of either of those...

As a side note, where did you go (Palomar, Mesa Grande)?

The 1LE did end up in fourth place overall in the "best drivers car" that year beating out most of the field.

Um, this was from 2016...

Maybe the 2020 contest this fall will include a current 1LE automatic.

Man I thought this was for real, but turns out it's just a drag race.

I have an idea. Let's have Michael Jordan compete against Michael Phelps in a 400 meter swim. Then when Phelps wins we can conclude he is a better athlete than Jordan.

The Camaro looks the best, IMO.

It's really odd that they included the SS 1LE. SS 1LE is actually less optimal for a drag race than an A8 SS since manual transmission are slower nowadays.

But yeah, it's the cheapest of the bunch so that's not surprising.

Like some people are saying in the comments, ZL1 would be a better candidate for this.

This wasn't just some random drag race to show who's fastest.

This was one of a series of videos about MotorTrends Best Drivers Car of the year 2016 iirc.

They compared the cars in several different venues and chose a winner. This was just one quick drag comparison, they took them out on the road, and around a track as well.

So for the best "drivers" car a 1LE would be a better choice than a SS with an automatic.

ZL1 was used in another years comparison so they probably didn't want to keep running the same car every year.

Without the context, it definitely looks random. This makes more sense now.
