H*ll, there's people on this site that have stated they're getting a Gen6 1LE just because it looks cool. Same with the mentioned Gen5 1LE. (and the ZL1s). I'd be willing to bet, if you polled all the C7 Z07 owners in this country and compared that to the number that see road courses, you'd find even worse skew. I remember there being pages of threads over "why would you buy X" car. |

I do like the red brakes and wheels, especially the 305s on the back. Might be some add on bits for my 2SS in the future.

I do not favor one more than the other, I just ordered my ZL1 a week ago...... I almost got a hellcat, that being said I would still like to buy a hellcat too. I have test driven a hellcat and if you haven't driven one you can not talk shit, that car is A LOT of fun haha I had a blast driving it and its does not handle bad, is it the best? NO......but I had a 900hp 1998 trans am, I know what body roll is and hellcats are pretty good, now I wouldn't make it my "race car" but for something to play around town, HELL YEAH I WOULD. I ordered the ZL1 because I think it will mod like hell and be fun track or street.
as far as comparing platforms of the ford and chevy products, people are not going to look at the competition by platforms.......they are going to see which cars have the some price tag in their personal price range and which company gives more bang for the buck. 1le 45k and 350r 66k? Being able to afford $66k why would you get a 350r instead of a ZL1 bc the Z will dominate. Im sure chevy knows the new gt500 is going to have a lot of balls, they already released a 700hp Shelby truck. z28 will be boosed and im sure will not disappoint, and if they come out with this possible big bad IROC that would be awesome. Just my two cents lol |

I shoot a few youtube videos and my Challenger that's in the 700HP range (crank) pins me to the seat so hard you can hear grunts as I have to tense up to hold my head straight. In data logs it goes from 40MPH to 140+MPH in right about 11 seconds (a pull from 2,000 RPM to revlimit of 6800 in 4th). That kinda stuff is hard to beat and you can play with that torque, even if not all of it, quite a bit just driving around. I will admit, I've had friends invite me to the Vette museum track in BG, KY (1 hour away) and I decline. I've figured the car just wouldn't be that much fun on a road course but may try it one of these days. |

I got ya, different strokes for...I personally feel satisfaction in hitting an apex at high speed one after another.

It takes a lot less engineering to make a car go only straight and fast. The fat cat reminds me of rotary dial phones.

Don't be mad the fat cat slaps the %$^& out of everything it comes across on the highway. People could care less about anything else.

Except they have to go back and pick up all the parts that fall off. Worst in reliability

Had my Challenger 8 years and no problems what so ever. Had my 2016 2SS Camaro 4 months and it's been to the shop 3 times (and looks like it may have to go back again), so I guess you should quantify your post with YMMV.
You sure love your magazine articles don't you bro LOL |

You one car does not make a corporation. Dodges sucks for reliability, own it.

I actually used to think that myself. The oil smoke blowing mini vans, Dodge trucks with suspensions falling a part, etc. Then I drove a more modern offering and it completely changed my mind. I can speak from personal experience, not magazine articles, so own that LOL I can say the same for track time as well, don't hate. You're just bitter your car is slow.
