Here's a photo of the passenger seat connector. That would eliminate the pins for memory:

No lumbar adjustments, just front to back, height and seat back angle
Definitely still some major differences. I suppose we won't learn much without a wiring diagram.

Yup. Wiring diagram and pin out

I'm wondering now if the 1LE seats are the same as the ZL1 except for stitching color and badge. If so, do these seats all plug and play with the 2SS harness?

It might be a case of replacing/splicing the 1SS/1LE harness and adding dash buttons. Maybe they're all connected on the same wiring and it could be an easy job.

I really hope so! I'm hoping someone figures it out soon. I would love to have these features!

Unfortunately it seems the heat/vent seat switches are part of one unit along with the HVAC controls. Then you would have to buy the dual zone ac harness, heat/vent seat harnesses, and dual zone heater control module. Maybe reprogram the HMI too?

Our most economical solution is to fab our own switch.

Well if it's anything like the doors it is the farthest thing from simple... When I swapped to the ZL1 door panels (basically a 2SS panel with suede instead of leather) I had to completely remove the harness from the new panel and replace it with the one from my stock panel. Basically the 2SS/ZL1 harness did not agree with the 1SS so everything didn't work correctly.

I have a feeling that just adding those dash buttons will be a nightmare, and trying to wire them up will be worse.

Last two posts make me go yikes. This looks very involved to pull off an OEM solution.

Anyone local want to see if the heating and cooling work with my 2SS?

Yeah, it looks like adding and getting the OEM dash buttons to function would be a nightmare and cost just more than it's worth...

Now, it a company came up with a plug and play into the seat harness, and (here is the key) a decent looking little module/box thingy with the heat/cool buttons in it that could attach to the seat sides, that would work too. As long as I said, it looked good...meaning a black plastic that matches, OEM quality switches, small in size, etc...that I would buy. But if it looked like a cheap plastic box with Pep Boys toggle switches, I would pass.

Ohh yea we can figure it out after Katie's! Sounds like a plan!

Sit tight everybody I figure we can take out my passenger seat and hook it up in his car as a proof of concept, if it works then we will know that we are really onto something!

Here it is, I tried to power it under the seat and it didn't do anything goes so I took it out. Going to see if I can get it to work outside the car now.

Still doesn't work by just wiring up the black and red. After testing my wife's car, which has ventilated seats, the red and black have full voltage all the time. The blue wire voltage changes with speed. It was something like 3v @ full speed, 5v @ Media and 9v @ low

That makes sense, it is your 'speed controller'

Would be easy to wire in a voltage drop to vary the speed too...

grab a 5v regulator... STAT! haha (good work!)

Reminds me of variable RPM fans in computer cases using PWM controllers -- either auto in BIOS or front mount dials.
