This just happened to me yesterday. After I pushed down on the lid, then it would pop open. I give the trunk lid a firm close now. It seems to open fine.

I've had some issues with the trunk not opening with remote. I had determined that it just wasn't fully closed, and used the button to open it. Hmmm now I wonder if there isn't something else going on?

the hight adjusment is very touchy. a little too low and it will not have sufficient force to pop up when the lock is released.

ie, if i remove the center plastic peace in the middle of the trunk opening on the car, the trunk will fail to pop. Put it back on and it forces the trunk up a little while closed. Popping works as expected.

You should be able to see a little indentation onn the center plastic panel somewhat near each side along one of the plastic ridges. If you dont see any "damage" here, then the trunk may need adjusting.

Yeah, exactly this.

I have this issue now. Does anyone know if there is a service bulletin?

I would suspect the microswitches in the latching mechanism before any controlling module or fuse block. These are probably not separately serviceable as a GM part.

I wired up a pigtail directly to my battery and hooked up a CTEK charger to keep the battery alive over the winter when the car is stored in the garage until spring.

I ran the charger cord out of the trunk up to the roof and into a ceiling outlet where there were 2 sockets but the door opener only needed one. I figured this way there was no additional path up into the car for mice like if the cord was on the garage floor.

Anyway, I figured that the big fat rubber seal on the trunk deck would squish around the cord, so I closed the trunk. One I did that, it would not open again with the remote or with the little rubber button. I guess the cord was holding the trunk lid out of position? Anyway, I got into the car and flipped down the rear seat backs and used the manual release[1], which worked fine. I did not re-close the trunk lid all the way, since the cord is still in place.

I am somewhere around 6'3" so I REALLY had to contort myself to get in there and do that. It was not pretty.
