Delivery of New 1SS

Hi All,

I need to general assistance in taking delivery of my new 2018 1SS. I live north of Boston, MA, and bought my car from a dealership in northern/mid PA. Does anyone in the Northeast (PA, NY, MA) area know if a solid transport company?

Because of the pending storm this weekend, my Saturday "meet-in-the-middle" delivery is put off until next week, and I cannot make any time next week work due to my work schedule. I want to see if I can find a transport company who can get the car to me as early as possible next week. I've been without a car for 2 weeks already, and that combined with the anticipation of my new ride is killing me

I wouldn't hawl squat around this week, or next; unless you want to wash off all that damn salt they'll be using. Just my 2 cents.
How have you been getting to work past couple weeks? Can't you do the same for a couple more?

I've been freezing my ass off on my bike for 2 weeks, and I'm a little burnt out. I can do it a bit more, yes. But, I'm going to be driving the car all winter as my daily driver, so this thing will be like a salt lick by March anyway, so not overly concerned there.

Did you ask the dealership if they could suggest somebody? Just a thought.

I did, and their guys is a wus about any negative conditions. Maybe that should make me like him as he'd likely be careful with my car

I just don't want to wait on when he says it's OK to go as it'll be in the spring sometime.

You may have to take off from work and retrieve the car yourself.
Are you going to do any undercoating for salt protection?

Honestly hadn’t thought about it. Any recommendations?

Can you post a bunch of pics with the car with the lowering / handling kit installed? Has the dealer already installed it?

Thanks!

They have already installed it. I would LOVE to post pictures, but I can't get the dealer to deliver it due to the weather. I bought out of state because I found an insane deal, but now have to deal with that decision. The dealer is about 450 miles away (I'm north of Boston, MA, and they're central PA). As soon as they get it to me, I will definitely take and post pics here. If I can find someone with a pickup to drive me and my snow tires out there before this weekend is over, I'll have it soon. If not, at least middle of this week, possibly the weekend. Been 3 weeks without a car. Dying to get it!!

Congrats on the purchase and good luck getting it! I'd have the dealer take pics of the finished product before you drive all the way out there!

I live in Mississippi so I know nothing about salt protection.

Peter Klutt, a car show host, used to have a show on the old speedvision channel and one of thesponsors was something called Crown. "its body maintenance for your car" was their slogan.

I finally figured out it was salt protection that is sprayed on like undercoating.
