Anyone running the YYZ springs on SS 1LE?
Curious to see a pic before/after of the look and also how it rides/performs on track

I would love to see some pics (and hear more feedback) from 1LE/Magride guys as well. I'm seriously considering the YYZ springs...but at nearly twice the price as a set of BMR's (which I've ran on 3-4 different cars and have been pleased with), the YYZ's premium price-point is a tough pill to blindly swallow. I've read YYZ's sales-pitch and I'm willing to drink the koolaid - but I need some pictures/feedback to help sell me.

I think the consensus for the SS 1LE is to leave it stock and not lower it. The only thing I would be willing to do spring wise on my 1LE is go with a little stiffer springs at the same stock ride height.
I wouldn't lower the car though

these springs were tested and confirmed that spring rates are better than stock and will work great on all camaro models including 1le or just a 1 or 2ss with magride and some people like 100% stock cars some people like to modify them

Didn't you saw somewhere on a different thread that the rear of your car now has some unsettleness to it in the rear after the lower springs were installed?

Seems the main marketing spiel is centered around 1 inch drop vs track performance results. Period. They do provide a lot of rate comparison vs competitors that sell lowering springs specifically. If somebody is after a lowered stance this is proly a decent choice. If somebody is after better track performance : there is zero data suggesting these springs achieve it. A vid of a dude wheeling a Camaro on a track hardly proves anything at all. Albeit it surely allows them to say "track tested". For SS 1le specifically i wouldnt consider this a track mod mainly because the car has fantastic balance with stock suspension. But thats just me and i do understand folks need or desire to experiment. But to say these are "better" than 1le stock springs is completely without merit as none is provided even remotely, other than theoretical musings. Moreover, i strongly suspect none of the creators have ever driven one on a track, never mind tested one spring vs the other on a track. Apart from 3 unknown dudes, that were given free springs in return for basic comments. Maybe this is what happens in after market industry all the time, but to me thats rather inadequate. Except where lowering the car as a chief purpose is concerned. But lowering a car vs achieving superior track performance are two different and vastly different animals. |
