It's kinda the same idea as switching tires or wheels to something not OE. Sure the control systems won't be 100% optimized, but it doesn't necessarily make the car undriveable.

do you think it'd be any less optimized than the Brembo 6 piston upgrade for the SS? which is like swapping over to SS 1le brakes?

i have a 6 piston kit works just fine just make sure its all oem gm parts and you will be fine and no problems

It'll be very slightly less optimized than the SS 1LE kit, but I highly doubt it'll be noticeable to 90% of people and probably would require a serious data acquisition system to measure the difference between those two kits. It's gonna be pretty insignificant no matter which 6-piston brake package you're talking about swapping to.
