OH NO!!! Having second thoughts.

Here is my issue. I ordered a 2lt/rs. It will be my daily driver. However, a number of issues have crept into my mind. My drive is riddled with Chicago potholes, going to need winter tires, visibilty for my wife will be an issue, am I going to want to park it anywhere and the list goes on. I have had my eye on a 2008 Corvette Convertible which my wife said, well if you dont get the camaro you can by the Vette and get a Malibu. What to do?

Buying a Corvette convertible and a Malibu is your alternative? Why not buy the Camaro and a Malibu?

thats a hard decision, well for potholes andd parking, the Camaro and vette would have the same problems.

The New Vette would be a weekend only car. The Malibu would be the daily driver. If I decide to go with the Camaro, I will keep my 2004 Corvette Coupe.

Golddog, you're not making sense. A Corvette in lieu of a Camaro because of potholes, winter tires and visibility and parking?

Ok, let me explain it this way. I keep my 2004 Corvette which is a weekend car (I have a CTS onlease that expires in Oct.). I trade the CTS in for the Camaro. Or, I trade my 2004 Vette for the Convertible and then turn in my CTS for the Malibu. The thing is I can get the new Vet and the Camaro. The VET stickered at $69,315 and I have the dealer at $47,995.

How are potholes, winter tires and such going to be fixed by buying a Corvette?

Dude, that's a lot of scenarios. I'd write them down on 3x5 cards and stick them to the wall, blind fold yourself and start chucking darts!

He's obviously a Vette guy that would not give up owning a Vette for a Camaro SS. The SS does have the same exact engine as the 08-09 Vette's. But a Corvette is a Corvette. The Camaro is rear wheel drive so expect that type of winter driving if you get a Camaro to be the daily driver, I wouldn't worry about the potholes or anything though with a Camaro.

Wink V6

Gave it a lot of thought and came down to these reasons:
  • Had my fun with V8 power in my Vette.
  • Gas is not going to stay around $2.00 gallon (Regular), we all know that.
  • The awesome reviews of the 6 has me thinking this IS the engine of the future - Dir Inject, double overhead cam, 29 hwy mpg, 304 hp.
  • Lighter front end weight, better overall front/rear distribution.
  • Except for the fake mail slot on the front and a few discrete badges it looks exactly the same as the 8.
  • I'm not going to be first from the stoplight every time, somebody is ALWAYS going to have a faster car.
  • In a few months, if someone is so inclined to mod the engine, there will be loads things available for the 6, if you decide later that you want/need more.

Never second guess yourself
Go with your first instinct
Vette and Malibu or
Vette and CAMARO SS
I know which 2 would be in my garage.
