Texas Out-Of-State Purchase
Hey all,
Just paid off my 2010 SS and looking to treat myself to a 17-18 ZL1. Question is what are the applicable fees and/or taxes that I need to be ready for when registering a car in Texas that I bought in another state? Never spent this much on a car before (or anything else for that matter, aside from raising my kids!), so want to make sure to spend wisely. Appreciate any and all info, tips, and advice. Thanks! |

6.25 % + tag/license fees. I paid about 300 in Florida.

Ouch that’s gonna suck.
Just got confirmation from a rep at the registrations office, 6.25% or the difference between taxes paid out of state and 6.25%. Was gonna put everything from the sale of my SS towards a down payment but looks like I got taxes to pay first! |

Are you keeping or selling you 2010 SS? Out of state may be tough to do, but if you trade in your SS the trade in value comes off the purchase price of the new car for tax purposes.
