You’re going to pay out the rear. I’m sure speed inc has done them, Nickey has done them, Finishline has probably done one or two....there’s a lot of places that can/will do them. It’s not going to be sheep though.

Hence I do my own work.

is Finishline still around? I haven't heard that name in years.

I know most shops are talking $600-$800 to tune depending on transmission

Cam install assuming you supply all the parts will run you $1500-$2500

Cam installations are much more labor intensive on 6th gens/ LT1-LT4s than they were on 5th gens.

The costs and time involved to properly tune a 6th gen is also more than with a fifth gen.

HP tuners charges more credit/fees and has an additional unlock fee for the TCM/automatics, to also include overnight shipping.

According to Alldata it’s 25.5 hours for a cam swap, 16.5 of that is for engine R&R. Labor intensive is an understatement.

Most shops are around $80-$100/hr. Now add in the cost of the cam and associated parts. It’s not a cheap proposition to do a cam anymore.

You’re going to overnight to Buffalo Grove??? That’s nuts! Talk to them and see if you can drop it off. It’s a 45 minutes drive from St. Charles...

First it started out around 16...then 18-19. Someone started the 20-21hr...
Now it's 25.5? LOL
Talk about collusion in the industry.

That’s just based on Alldata. Lol. It would appear that they’ve determined it’s easier to remove the engine as opposed to trying to do it in car. This is exactly why I do my own work. Lol
