2019 V6 CAI?
Hey guys,
Looking into getting a CAI. Scoured previous posts etc. and it seems they're all for the SS/V8's or other year models. I started to like Roto-Fab based on the performance increase reviews but on looking at their site and calling it looks like they don't make one for the 2019 V6... (same with S&B) Whats with the late model V6 hate haha I looked into Cold Air Inductions but they're the only ones on my list now. Not against them, but would like to hear opinions - other options. Any suggestions? |

I currently have a K&N Typhoon installed. I'm happy with it after 4k miles. However, from what I've read, most either use a drop-in filter and keep the stock box, or modify their system to use the stock SS intake.

For the $400 that it costs for one of these things, I'll just gladly spend $50 and get a performance filter, and get like 75% of the gains. CAI's are grossly overpriced for what you get in terms of power in my opinion

The stock box is a cai.
Aftermarket intakes just allow the use of a cone filter vs the flat one. The snorkel is the same the air is coming from the same place. The bridge is almost exactly the same. But hey, it looks better and the filter surface area is a bit larger. Get it for looks if you want. Otherwise the fabric drop in is going to be much more than 70% the same. I doubt there is any difference without forced induction. |

another thing to note is that no aftermarket intake (cept the drop in's) are 50 state legal.
They all lack that stupid carbon pad, so they'll never be compliant... So if you live in one of the dozen states that care about that, you'll need to hold on to your stock intake for the day in the future where you have to get tested. |

I'm looking between aFe & Cold Air Inductions it seems... still pissed roto-fab doesn't make one, they look so nice lol I get the logic behind just getting a performance filter, but I like how the entire aftermarket box & filters look. |

I also recommend the K&N Typhoon. HP and torque are debatable, but I did feel improved throttle response and deepened the tone of the exhaust a bit. Best of all, not a single CEL in 4k miles.
