I sent you an email last week, I am considering the Carbon Fiber front rotors w/ 2 piece iron disk. Any sales possibly on that package? #30+ pound savings of rotating mass & the sinister sexy look of a composite front rotor. R/B (2) piece iron black rotor is one of the best looking rotors I have seen.

The full CC is 50 pounds savings of rotating mass.

Since the zl1 caliper is the same as the 5th gen Z28 will those carbon disc bolt right up?

and for the rear what would be what mods are needed to make the Z28 brakes work?

These CCM rotors are made for direct replacement and fit under OE calipers.

They are now being built with premium continuous carbon fiber which is a denser and stronger construction and material than Brembo's chopped fiber.

See our tech presentation on rennlist here:
https://rennlist.com/forums/showpost...0&postcount=16

By Design:

Traditional Straight Vane Design (Brembo & ST): Rotor are non-directional (Left and right are the same, less efficient in cooling)

RB's Angle Vane Design: Rotors are directional (More efficient in cooling air circulation and can keep braking temperature lower)

By Material & Finish:

Brembo

Surface Transforms

RB

Complete OE Caliper Rebuild Kit for G5 & G6

Matrix has recently been updated:
https://www.racingbrake.com/category-s/7383.htm

G6 SS calipers are same as Corvette C7 Z51 that have external boot fitment which requires different style of pistons other than boots.

Both boots (Std and HT blue boots) and pistons are being made available with a 2-4 weeks leadtime.

IMO Carbon brakes are not worth the risk and cost of an overheated/failed carbon disk. If you're super wealthy, sure no problem. Burn up your CC brakes on a heavy track day, have your assistant take the car in for another set. Chump change :-)

But for most of us the cost is really high and the stock iron disks are amazing already. Brakes are not a weak point on the ZL1, they're a strength.

I agree, at this point I would just be happy with OE replacement discs

So go a place like this.. https://wantian.en.alibaba.com/

give them the dimensions of the rotor from page 1 like 394x36mm along with the other specs..

and you will have a rotor cheaper option.

How often are you replacing the front rotors? New ZL1 fronts are only $411.83 at Amazon (177-1247 Delco / 84271643 GM). For the price point and performance of the car and the brake components, especially compared to OEM Porsche, etc. prices, we have it very good.
