I purchased the navcard a few weeks ago, and unfortunately it seems to require a software update. Took it to my dealer and they could not get it to work, they said they never done such a thing although they tried. Anyone else done this recently? I might need to look into some other dealership coz im not trying to pay 500 for this plug and play aftermarket solution called OBD genie.

What a joke the dealer was, there is a bulletin about it in the gm service manual
And there is a special calibration specifically for the upgrade

I found this out after the fact! I purchased obd genie while installation was quick I found out I was no longer getting updates plus XM traffic is not connected resulting in no speed limit in gauges or HUD

I believe the head unit hardware is different.. not just software difference.

Most likely no as the entire 3.0 platform is different, both hardware and software. Try Chris White at https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com, if he can't help, there is no way.

Thanks for the reply! I contacted him. Basically the answer is yes, but it would cost thousands and the whole dash has to come out to add a bunch of modules, a new wiring harness, and replace the Bose amp. So it's possible just not very practicable.
