i suppose. i figured the weight gain was offset somewhat by wheels and exhaust. how much heavier was it on your best pass vs when it was stock? i haven’t seen very many modded 6g cars at the track around here, no idea what to expect. the cars look so good on drag setups.

These 6gen cars are impressive for sure. When I went 10.87 @ 128 on street tires, with me in the car, 1/2 tank of gas, it weighed around 3975. I have not weighed the car with the drag setup, but when I weighed the tire/wheel setups individually when I swapped them there was a 62 lb savings total in the drag setup. So approx weight with drag pack, 3913 lbs.....?

here is the thread for my drag pack setup with weights: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=539591

i’m really struggling with which direction to go, blower or na. i feel like both would trap similar but the blower would be the cheapest and easiest route. lots of 540 whp cam only cars going 130+.
His car went 128 with 620whp on street tires in average air. Not a hero track. The 131 is with 653whp.

Any of the NA cars going 130+ removed a significant amount of weight. Most of the FI cars have added weight. Not to mention these NA card posting really fast times are in Negative DA.

Do the weight reduction mods to this car like you see on Prays NA cars and this car goes 138+ easy and probably over 140 if you gutted it like the Bolt-on record car in mine shaft air.

The bolt-on record car is 32xx.

Most of the NA cars with weight pulled are around 34xx.

Majority of the FI cars sit around 37xx.

Not including driver.

Thanks for all the support everyone! Actually until SteelheadRob gets out there and runs quicker, this is the quickest Whipple SS that has been posted. I am sure there are quicker ones out there, but lets get them posted on the fast list!

i wasn’t comparing his car to prays car, that isn’t fair. i think the da was similar on their hero passes. hell ive never raced in da under +800’. i guess i was expecting more from 650 whp, i know the et is going to suffer for several reasons.

I didn't mean to imply you were comparing prays cars. I was using them as a example since he is one of the few that backs up his tuning and packages with track results. Either way any NA cam car going 130+ is going to be lighter and in better air to match this cars trap speed. At the same track, on the same day, at the same weight, I don't believe a NA Cam car is going to run like this.

Finally made it back to the track now that things are starting to open up. Same setup as last year, only change was I got it re-tuned by EFX in NJ. There was some torque management that was holding me back that they took care of and some driveability issues I wanted cleaned up, they did a great job. I made 5 passes, the best 2 are below. The DA Friday night was pretty bad, the car got quicker and faster as the night went on. Mind you this is an M6 car too. Lots of room for improvement yet.

Previous best at Cecil County MD in 03/19 with a DA of 500-800.
60ft: 1.679
ET: 10.705
MPH: 131.92

06/26/20
Track: Maple Grove, Mohton PA.
DA: 2400-2600
Race Weight: 3835 lbs, me and a half tank of gas.

4th Pass
Launch RPM around 4,000
60ft: 1.664
ET: 10.853
MPH: 129.58

5th Pass
Launch RPM around 4,000
60ft: 1.675
ET: 10.801

Vast majority of these fast NA cars are A8 also.
The M6 6th gens are just not good drag race cars. The gearing is atrocious and they're tricky to get off the line if boosted.
17/18 inch drag pack is crucial

Let's be real an A8 6th gen with this same setup would probably be a half second faster and a few mph higher.

You are exactly right, just look at steelheadrob, we have basically the same setup, but he is an A8. Most of it is in the 60ft.

60ft: 1.455
1/4 ET: 10.114
1/4 MPH: 135.74

Made it to the track the other weekend, only 1/8th mile on this day due to track conditions, although I didn't see or feel any problems. They even had a jet car and Chris Rankin from Street Outlaws there. Each pass got faster and faster, just giving it more RPM at the line, in the end I was up around 5k launch RPM with a somewhat quick and smooth clutch release. My best 60ft was 1.673, but didn't run the 1/8 mile out on this pass (last one), didn't want to break out while bracket racing since i chased them down, dropped like 11 mph on this pass and still went a 7.05 in the 1/8, probably would have been the best pass of the day. As far as 1/8 mile full pass best time was 6.991 @ 101.54 mph with a 60 ft of 1.698.
