Picking up a NFG 2SS 1LE on Thursday. Northern VA/Metro DC.
$52935 MSRP w/ freight (2SS, PDR, NAV, Sunroof, black bow ties) $44566 sales price (incl cash incentive + Asian conquest) $995 freight/PDI $75 dealer fee ($624 off via military discount) +TTL Lots of cross shopping in the area - some great deals on 1SS (10k off the best I saw but colors I didn't want), but decided to go upmarket to the 2SS for a bunch or reasons when my OTD price was the same as the MSRP of the first 1SS I was looking at (PDR, too many LPOs). Didn't really want the sunroof, but the 2SS w/o the sunroof all had $800 of LPOs (fuel door, more bling on the flanks, strut brace, etc) that I didn't care for. In the end I spent 1k less out of my home market for the same MSRP instead of the LPO heavy, scratched wheel, and $599 for nitrogen and a roadside kit that was "on the car." Pics to follow this weekend. |

Hi Everyone!
I'm picking up a Nightfall Grey 1SS 1LE on Monday! The only option was the 1LE package, I got it out the door for under $40k after some negotiation. It does seem dealers are motivated to sell '18s right now, here in Colorado it's getting colder out and the '19s are close. OTOH, only one dealer in the Front Range area had a basic 1SS 1LE without a bunch of other stuff added and of course they know that... but they do have 4 of them, all in different colors. The car I chose was still on it's way to the dealer from the factory, so I get it in the same way as if I ordered it, no test drives, no sitting in the showroom for people to scratch up, no front license plate holder riveted or screwed into the front bumper. I'm coming from a 2016 Subaru STi, which is a nice car in many ways, but it's only REALLY good on very tight roads or dirt and snow surfaces. The 3 LSDs in the tranny and rear end give the car amazing grip on low-traction surfaces but contribute to fantastically bad fuel economy for a car that's not much faster than a V6 Camry in a straight line. Also, the car's engine and cooling are below modern standards, comparing it to the 1LE makes it painfully obvious how far behind Subaru has fallen. The car is '90s tech in a decent chassis. So, I already ordered a clear bra kit w/ Scotchguard PRO film, along with some bulk PPF to place on the rear fender in front of the rear tire and along the rocker panel. I also got some splash guards, floor and trunk liners, a hitch for my bike rack (I know... but it's only 28 lbs in the place you'd most like to add weight if you had to though). Oh, and a skip-shift eliminator kit. I plan to keep the car stock, one of the big advantages vs the STi is I don't need to void the warranty to get a car suitable for track driving. I'll probably also have the paint professionally polished and then have them apply a paint sealer. I feel like hand polishing is for kids, my body can't take it anymore, lol. |

One giant step...
I am officially joining the list of people waiting for a 2018 (Corrected - 2019) Camaro...
I'm working with Becky and have a Preliminary Order Detail for my car. Becky says once it is approved it should be picked up by the factory on Tuesday (tomorrow) so I guess today is Day 1 of my journey. For the record, I ordered a 1SS 1LE Coupe in Summit White, 6-Speed MT, with PDR. That's all. I understand it will take about 10 weeks so I'll see it around the first of the year...
