Is that sub enclosure custom or can you buy that box? Reminds me of my cobalt ss days. Great sound and you can still use your trunk

Just Ordered the 12W6 stealthbox with the JL RD1000/1 amp to go with it, should be here and installed by next week. Will give an update and brief review once I have it installed.

If you are looking for 1 12 in a sealed box it is the option I would go with.
I personally want 2 with the option to remove one or both, not sure what to do. |

Any update? I want to do this next year. I also want to start pricing my options out but I am set on a stealthbox, just need to figure out the rest of the bits. (2SS Bose).

I am designing my own box to go back there. It will take up more room but make more bass. Also way cheaper. I can justify the price tag behind any of the JL products. Great quality for sure, but way overpriced.
I just threw in a temporary sub and amp to test my wiring and its an old crappy sub on hardly any power and sounds GOOD in the coupe. I was surprised. So I doubt you would go wrong with the JL if thats what you want.

Update: Had it for about 2 weeks, it is loud and clear for sure!! My truck has a custom ported box that holds 2 12" Kicker Comp RTs and the stealthbox hits as hard if not harder than my truck. Yes, I admit, its pricey, but worth it in the long run. Very little to no compromise to what little trunk space we have.

Started the install on the stealthbox, and there was a small issue with mounting. Apparently they used a non-bose system in which there were no back speakers in the package shelf. Had to get really creative with the installation to prevent the threaded rod from tearing through the extremely thin fiberglass they use behind the woofer.

Once I get home I will take one. Basically the "large hole" that they were speaking of in the instructions were where the subwoofers are located in the package shelf. I am going to use rivet nuts where those carriage bolts were supposed to sit to mount the front bracket to the metal package shelf. This will allow me to anchor the front of the enclosure. The rear of the sub enclosure is held by a single threaded rod through a hole in the fiberglass portion of the enclosure. If the box is allowed to move a significant amount, I am afraid that the mounting point will tear through.

Sorry , but when I installed the box in a bose system ss2 I had no problem at all with the installation . The holes you need to install the box through are there and can be accessed. I have the speakers on the back deck and it all clears with no problem at all . To get the bolts through the deck panel to mount the bracket take a long plastic wire tie or some mechanics wire and attach it to the threaded end of the bolt with just a little tape and feed the other end down from the top and just pull the bolt through the hole and while holding the bolt with needle nose plyers you can remove the tape . once you slowly feed the bracket over the threads you can then start the nut .

the sub enclosure should be able to come and rest against the bracket that the threaded rod was attached to without the rod attached . if it does not maybe the interior trim is not cut out enough and it is fighting you from the box fitting all the way into the opening . With the sub out , and the threaded rod not in , looking in the hole of the enclosure you should be able to see it close the the inner quarter bracket that the rod attaches to
