14 Z28 pre production

Hello, I have a CTF Z28 that was used on the German courses. I am looking for some advice on what the value of this car is. Last 7 of the VIN is 9699007 so I know it’s a pre production car. It’s silver in color and has a/c. Any help would be great.

Post some pics of your car. I think more people would see this on Camaro5.

Miles will determine value. CTF doesn’t have a big impact IMO. Is this the car from the ‘ring time video?

This is my car. The car had 10,000 miles on it when I purchased. Although it had never been titled. Also I have all documents regarding it being a German course car and a complete history of mechanical repairs or replacements during its test period.

Certainly more than the average one, doesn't hurt that it's SIM either. Curious how you came to buy it?

Sorry if I hit the wrong number. It is 007 and from what I can tell it is the lap car yes. It has 20,000 miles on it as of now and had 10K when I bought it. Here is the story, I had a 2014 ZL1 that was pushing 1,000 HP. The motor was beefed up by a company out of Chicago. I could run 92 octane but to get the real power I needed E85, one bad ass camaro. Well a buddy of mine was driving it and missed a gear going from 3rd to 4th he hit 2nd at over 100 mph so the motor imploded. I spent 20G getting it fixed. So then I stopped at the place i purchased the car from and they had the Z28 sitting there. The owner of the dealership showed me the video on you tube and the paperwork he had on it. From what I was told the CTF models were sent to dealerships across the country and those dealerships were required to display the car for 45 days before they could sell them. After buying the car I did my own research and got a complete history report from a buddy that manages a Chevy dealer ship. Shows all the parts that were replaced and where they were installed. All in Germany. I can take some more pics of the interior and more of the exterior but it is in excellent condition inside and out.

Well tried to edit my post, and accidentally deleted it.

I could type all of that out again, or you could post the history report your buddy gave to you.

What you have is a CTF car. These cars are fleet cars for mileage accumulation and data collection, after which they are auctioned to the public. In basic terms, CTF is a car that was driven by an employee in a particular division to gather data on a "saleable" vehicle, much like the public would see. At worst, a CTF car is used in magazine drives, media days, public shows..etc. The Silver RING CAR in the video is at the Heritage center and is an EX-vin scrapper car. The TEST mules that people see at road courses and the like are EX-vin car, meaning they get scrapped eventually, or used for other purposes such as hardware/software validation. They never get released to the public, because of DMV laws that mandate once a car has been modified, it cannot be sold. If we so much as drilled a small hole in a car to run a data cable through the fireward, or bolt a battery in the back seat..the car gets scrapped.

Also, here is production data for you.

Well it looks like silver is the rarest of them so that is a good thing. Still have no idea what the value of this car is. Any ideas? And is that data to include the 500 they made for the public in 2014? How many CTF vehicles did they produce that year?

They made 79 SIM total for both MY's,with a couple less now that were totalled. If that car is the one they set the lap in, it does add value, down the road, but the limiting factor is the 20k miles. It's a bit counter intuitive as you would think a PP car would be more desirable, but quite the opposite as they have the stigma potentially of being ridden hard and put away wet by who knows who.One owner Z's are not easy to come by these days. If you're looking for a # i think low forties is doable even with the high miles as they just don't come up that often JMHO.

Yes, this data includes CTF and regular production. They produced 69 CTF cars in 2014 and 4 in 2015. The value of your car is probably low-mid 40's, like everyone elses. If you're wanting to flip it, it'll be a while before its worth what you're looking for. Otherwise, my advice is get out and drive the hell out of it and enjoy it.
