Fixing an oxidized clear hood

What would/can you use to remove oxidation from a clear/smoke abs plastic? Would the same method for headlights work?

If you are going to wet sand, start with a small test spot.

400 grit>1000 grit>2000 grit>3000 grit
Then compound and orange pad. Followed by polish and a white pad.

Were you using a DA? If so, what was the abrasiveness of the pad? (cutting, polishing, etc.?)

It requires a good level of experience/skill, but this is what a rotary was made for; with a hybrid foam/wool pad. I use a flex 3403.
