Suggestion for replacement rotors and pads 2017 2SS
Hi guys! Needing to replace rotors and pads for 2017 2SS. Mechanic friend said to go with cross drilled rotors. Any of you replaced yours and have suggestion for a good brand that will last besides going with OEM replacement? Thanks for any info.!

IMO it's a hard no on cross-drilled rotors. On our cars (and practically every car with steel rotors) there's no performance benefit and they'll fail (crack) sooner than a non-drilled rotor.
No rotors I know of that I'd recommend over OE. If they're burnished properly with new pads I'm betting they're the best option for the price/longevity/performance balance on the SS w/o upgrading to one of the higher-trim car's brake packages. Different pad options depending on use. If you're willing to give up performance but have less dust, a carbon-ceramic like powerstop Z26 or Hawk PC could work well. If tracking, OE or something slightly more aggressing would be better suited.

I went with Powerstop Z26 for street use. They’ve been on the car since last September. They work for my use and I’d buy them again.
