Levels of gas in each tank @ different guage readings
Someone posted recently the gas levels in left and right tanks @ 1/2 tank, 1/4 tank readings, would like to see that info again.

I posted on that.
It's pretty simple really. Car empties left side before right. Full tank - both R and L full 3/4 tank - R full, L half 1/2 tank - R full, L empty 1/4 tank - R half, L empty Pump is on right side. Both sides have fuel level sensors. There is transfer tube which allows pump to draw from left side until it is drained. |

Weird! Thanks for these details. Does left get emptied first to balance for the weight of the driver (or steering?) being on that side? Are camaros down-under programmed to empty the right tank first?

it's a saddle tank. So, the right side will fill first, then overflow to the left.
I am not sure exactly how the transfer process works, but the info I can find indicates the fuel on the left side gets transferred to mix with the right side before it gets pumped to the engine. What I'm getting at is that if you start with 1/4 tank and fill with E85, the pump will not be sending pure E85 from the left tank until it pulls the E85/gas mix from the right. This link explains the general idea, which is probably how ours works: https://www.underhoodservice.com/sad...e-the-trouble/ |
