RAP / Audio Power Question
According to the manual, RAP (Retained Accessory Power) is maintained after shutting the car off for either a specific duration of time or until the driver's door is opened.
I have found that my 20 2SS will keep the radio powered on even after I have opened the driver's door, exited the vehicle, closed the door, and locked it. Thoughts? I'm concerned that the car is allowing items to remain powered for FAR too long after it is shut off, and this is definitely NOT how my Silverado works... |

I’ve never had that same issue but I have had something that sounds similar. Sometimes when I exit the vehicle and it locks I can see the little red light stay on the power door lock buttons. The electrical on these cars is strange imo. But you having a brand new car I’d take it to the dealer and tell them what you are telling us.

With regard to the lights on the door locks, I personally wouldn't be too concerned about that specific item as those lights are basically super low-power LED's and I couldn't imagine them drawing any more power than the common red flashing LED that many cars have showing that it's locked. |

Just out of curiosity, does it do it all the time? When it is doing it is the orange light on the start button still lit? Like being in the ACC position.

Enter car, start it, back it out of the garage. During all of this, the radio comes on. Turn car off, open door, close door, LOCK door... radio continues playing. I travel a lot for work (normally) and have driven my fair share of push-button start vehicles (quite a few from GM, as well - all 2018 or newer). I've never experienced anything like this on ANY vehicle where the radio continues playing even after the door has been locked! |

Had the same issue develop after about 400 miles on it.
Figured it out by going into the infotainment screen and updating the software. Should be easy for you to do, but if not, let me know and I can retrace my steps for you.

What might I hope to see differently by leveraging that method of locking the door? |

From what I can tell, there appear to be no software updates shown as pending and I don't know how to force it to check. Does this process require that you have the vehicle connected to a WiFi network at your house? If so, that's never going to happen. The privacy disclosures that are required for that say that GM is allowed to collect ALL KINDS of information about you including basically everything on the so-called black box for usage data. That information goes nowhere without a court order.
