As I understand Camaro will be new 2015

Excuss me but not sure when the current geneation Camaro will change body style (perhaps 2015). I currently have a 2011 2LT with A6 that I preorded back in mid May 2010, received mid August 2010. Currently only 7,200 KM (4,475 miles).
Love my Camaro an do not want a smaller verson (6th generation).
Considering a 5th gerneration convertible.
I preorded a 2011 model mid May 2010 one month before 2011 models went into production. Does that mean I need to preorder a 2014 model, generation 5 Camaro mid May 2013?
Considering trading my low mileage 2011 2LT coupe for a convertible, last of the gen 5 Camaro body styles.
Is the 2014 Camaro last of this body style? If so, I will need to place my order for a 2014 Camaro convertible in May 2013.

I think the new generation will be 2015 or 2016. Of course that is a few years from now, so I would recommend asking this question again in a year or two.

GM nor any GM rep has never said anything about when the 6th gen will come out.

Any and all information you hear regarding the 6th gen are just rumors or wishful thinking started by the public. Take everything you hear with a grain of salt and believe non of it until GM or a GM rep releases an official press release.

Thank you. Just trying to plan in advance.
If the last of the Camaro generation 5 body style will be a 2015 then I must order May 2014 to receive an early 2015 model. That is only 18 months from now. Means I must start talking to my dealer this time next year regarding a pre-order.

Camaros are just like any technology in the world. You can always wait and get a better version...but they all eventually turn obsolete. Get one ASAP!

Read the OP over again, he wants the newest of the old ie the newest model that will still be a 5th gen.

Is smaller an 1" or a foot? IThe 6th Gen could be a huge let down in styling from the 5th Gen or it could be the sexiest best looking Camaro ever. I am not sure how anyone could know at this time if they want a 6th Gen or not.

Why don't we just enjoy the 5th Gen for a little while? Most vehicles maintain the same appearance for 10 years with minor changes along the way.

Uh, not in today's market. 5-6 years and a car already becomes dated.

Usual timetable is an MCE 2-3 years after launch with a full redesign 5-6 years after launch.

I am confident that GM learned a great deal with the 5th Gen. From Scott and Al and Cheryl and all the other GM people going to shows and C5Fest and being part of the fun with us, they know what people want and what will sell. I don't see them straying too far form the current design unless government makes it happen that way. Maybe some minor styling changes and more technology, but I think it will still have some heredity in it's look and performance.

I could see the Z/28 maybe coming back in the next generation since it may not come as a 5th Gen. Most people would have been satisfied if the ZL1 had been released with that moniker. Probably magnetic ride on SS models as well, not to mention the possibility of a turbo or charged version in the SS. As design and engineering cost is absorbed by the ZL1 and 1LE, much of that technology could trickle into Gen 6 easily and at an affordable price. . Regardless of what platform it is built on, I think GM will make it a looker and performer just like they did the 5th gen.

I may be going to Saudi for work for 5-8 years. If I do it will give me the ability to add a ZL1 to the garage with my SS and probably add a 6th Gen as well. Of course I will have to build a bigger garage with a lift and a indoor wash/detail bay, but that will all be fun.

As an example look at your Envoy and Sonoma compare both vehicles to all of the years they were in production there is not much of a difference.
