My SC3's last roughly 5-6 trackdays before the fronts cord. I wish I had a tire machine to flip them, I bet I could get at least 2 more trackdays out of them.

Keep your eyes up. Look at the next turn. Your hands follow your eyes.

I was also recently at NJMP Lightning on Jun-20. Weather was very nice. The facility is great excepting we had to traverse to the only C-store at Thunderbolt to get any snacks, brake fluid, and coffee.
Defo agree on brake fluid. A heavy car that makes a lot of power combined with a shorter course will definitely boil sub-optimal fluid before a 20 min session is up. Most courses will have 2 very hard brake turns, which lead into the back and front straights. Even with just 2 heavy braking zones, you can boil the fluid very quickly if it is sub-optimal. Having a good instructor to help you build the foundation and set expectations is very helpful. Mine helped me to get perspective on how much consistent seat time it would take to even be considered for intermediate. He says people get thrown into intermediate far too soon without having practiced the basics enough to consistently execute. Drink lots of fluids. Wear a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen. Bring a chair with canopy for shade. Bring Jack, Jack stands, torque wrench. Bring spare pads and rotors, if nearing wear limit on tech sheet. I’m finding the standard brake pads and MP4S tires are good enough to learn on. I’ll continue to use the standard pads until I have 20+ hours (~10 events) of seat time.and see if I’m ready to begin experiencing a stronger pad.

Glad you had a good time OP! Yes, please... for your safety, get that factory dot 4 out and put in a quality high temp dot 4 fluid.

So I had daily driven the car last year until I got my Ford maverick Daily so it had about 12k miles on already, during that time I did drive the car pretty hard on the road so the tires were pretty worn the track just finished them off |
