Sorry Joe, I know you were hurting with the many things you said while talking about Becky. Thank you for the beautiful tour along with a car history lesson in Detroit. Spending time with you actually made me forget about my new car during that time. Your now back where your heart wanted to be and I'm sure you were greeted with open arms.

I had talked to Becky on the phone years ago and met her at CamaroFest a couple of times but not Joe. It's very sad to loose two special people in such a short time. I've been following their status threads daily since the Gen 5 days. So sorry to hear about this.

That’s terrible! Joe and Becky were both great people and amazing part of this community! Hope they both are resting peacefully!

For those who do not know who Scott Settlemire is, He is known by many Gen5 enthusiasts as FBodFather (fbodfather on camaro5.com), he was the "unofficial" GM voice for keeping the Camaro alive after the Gen4 2002 Camaro went away. He told everyone after 2002 to Keep the Faith on a potential Gen5. While he is currently retired from General Motors he still is an awesome ambassador for the Camaro brand. Here is his FB post on the passing of Joe.....................

Thank you for posting that link. What a great love story. Love of cars, love of their friends, love of strangers, and most of all their love for each other. I bet he drove up to the pearly gates in a Camaro so he could take Becky for a cruise.

Sad times indeed I found out about joe falling a few days after is happened. We had just exchanged texts the day before like Scott mentioned Joe was never the same when Becky passed.

Like Scott my friendship Becky started in June 2009 on Camaro5, and we finally meet face to face at the 1st Camaro Fest when she introduced me to Joe. We all hit it off and a great friendship formed I would come up for Becky’s Rodgers Chevrolet car shows. Becky and Joe instead I stay at the house and not a hotel when I come up and visit, they even let me drive the ZL1 or the Z06 when I was in town. I would come up on weekends hang out at the dealership I told them put me to work I would tag and key cars for them then spend hours at the warehouse shooting the shit with MCCC.

Joe and I would shoot the shit for hours after Becky went off to bed. I remember in 2019 Joe had a doctor’s appointment for his eyes and unable to drive back to the dealership. Becky was busy with working and getting the dealership ready for the car show the next day. CJ and I went to go pick Joe up at the doctor’s office Joe felt so bad but very thankful I was able to get him that morning (I had flown in from Orlando a few hours before) he tried to pay me for picking him up (I would not have it I told him his money was no good) this is what friends do for each other. Honestly, we were more then friends Becky and Joe were family.

After Becky passed Joe and I would chat and text a few times a month I would check in as well on Camaro6 to see how he was doing. Once Becky passed it was hard to continue the forum. TO be honest the car was not fun anymore that is the kind of impact Becky had.

When I got the news Joe was in the hospital, I knew we he was ready to be with Becky it would only we a matter of days. My heart hurts that both are now gone but I am so grateful that Joe is no longer suffering with out his Becky. I know they are in a better place driving the Camaro and Corvette and eating ice cream together again…………. Joe and Becky, we love you and we miss you so dearly.

Wish I found this forum earlier and met Joe in person. Being located in metro Detroit, I actually sold one of my Chevy vehicles to James Martin Chevy and had a very good experience with the sales manager for vehicle acquisitions, though I did not know about Joe and this forum at that time.

Since ordering the car, Joe was always very quick to update me on the forums here.

RIP Joe. You will be greatly missed by many.
