Should be pretty soon. They shutdown in December for the whole month I believe.

“The launch-related downtime at Wentzville Assembly is a continuation of the construction updates that are needed in various departments in order to support production of our next-generation mid-size trucks,” Soule said in a statement.

I'm just surprised we know so little about the trucks at this stage.

Agreed. I need to see how much trouble my wallet is in. As long as features are similar to the 2022's, crew cab/long bed is still available, and Crush/Vivid Orange are available I'll be particularly interested.

I wouldn't be surprised if you find a single config crew cab/short bed and a single engine (2.7 I4).

Especially if you look at the '22 "Global Ranger" which should be the foundation of the upcoming '23 NA Ranger update, it'll maintain both Supercab and SuperCrew cabs as well as expand the powertrain options to add in a v6 2.7EB or 3.0EB to join the i4 2.3EB.

And if they add in any sort of hybrid PowerBoost system... THAT will sway a lot of buyers, I think.

True, and GM has said no more hybrids publicly (except Corvette).

Half-baked theory here... for some reason this article about Colorado generations has a "written" date of January 26th, 2022.. 11 days from now... which is coincidentally the start date of the Houston Auto Show. Maybe that isn't a coincidence.

Could be. Journalists often receive details several days before a reveal with all of the specs that are to be released. They are provided under embargo. Repercussions of breaking embargo are strict and swift. Let me just say that I don’t know of anyone who has broken embargo twice.

Yup, they're just decreasing costs and development time/effort. They have to fund the EV future somehow. We lose options in the meantime. Still excited to see how competitive this offering is soon.
