I will probably keep this car. But ultimately, I want a GT3 touring. Those are really hard to get tho and I am going to wait a couple of years to see if the crazy premiums at dealerships go down. At least 50k-100k mark up on those cars.

im sure that maintenance costs on the porsche will be higher, that might turn it into more of a tie.

1. Most likely, the Cayman/Boxster will become electrified soon, so ICE Caymans will become rare and in demand.
2. The base model and Cayman S are only available in turbo 4 motors. Porsche guys hate them, and those cars are going mostly to tuners and guys who want to modify.
3. This 4.0 motor may be one of the last naturally aspirated motors Porsche ever makes. Right now, the only NA motors they make are this motor and the GT3 motor.
4. Markups at dealerships are now 20k+ for this car. They are not making very many either.
5. The expert consensus is that this model and motor is one of the best drivers cars they have ever driven. I would have to agree....it is a special car....but so is the Camaro. Don't get me wrong, I love the Zl1 and will keep it for track duty to beat up on the Porsches at the track!
Good info, didn't realize could be one of the last NA flat 6. I couldn't spend that money and have a turbo 4, although while power is nice it's the sound I'd be after.

I've read same thing about the 718. they say the 911 is actually getting to be too large of a car and the 718 is more back to roots with NA and small flickable car. Curious if you can order any of them and only pay sticker?

From what I've read, the "best" driver's car list for current Porsches are (from top to bottom):

GT3
GT4
Cayman GTS 4.0

This is assuming ideal road and weather conditions. No "in real life and not on a track, this car is better suited" qualifier.

I like the color scheme of the Porsche. Manual or PDK? Which one do you drive more often?

Video of me chasing around a GT2 and GT3 on slicks. Fast cars, but the ZL1 is the performance bargain for sure. https://youtu.be/4neM_9v6rwI

For your information i bought a used 2020 Zl1 in june and paid the guy $3000 more than a new one send it to an auction and made $5000. It had 2900 kilometers or 1800 miles .Anything hard to get keeps it s value these days .They do not depreciate . Been a wholesaler for over 30 years never seen used car prices go crazy like the last 2 years .Supply and demand.
