2019-20 front SS badge removal

Has anyone taken this off without removing the front bumper? I really don't want to deal with that.

Heat it up with a heat gun / hair dryer and gently lift. It comes right off, just two sided tape. There's two alignment pins, but no nuts or anything.

Just a heads up, if you're doing it to de-badge, there'll be a small flat area that will be visible. Most people wouldn't notice, but there is one.

You can actually take off the whole clip on bracket that the emblem is on

I managed to get the bottom clip off, but can't even see the top one. I'll just take the bumper off tomorrow. Not a huge job, I was just being lazy.

16-18 are a pain imo, those snap pins are hard through the hood latch hole but doable, and if you debadge it leaves a big empty spot where the badge was. 2020s are easier as it just clips on to the upper grill and it is more easily removed by just unscrewing it and it looks clean after debadging.

Why not just buy a V6 if you want everyone to think you have one?

First, I don't care what anyone thinks I have. I'm driving it, and I'm the one looking back at it every time I get out. Second, if they can't tell by the heat extractor, spoiler, bumper, grille, exhaust note, quad exhaust tips, or staggered tires, they wouldn't be my target audience anyways.

UPDATE: After I took the bumper off, it became obvious that the metal clip I had already removed was the only thing holding it in. It's just wedged in at the top and requires firm pressure to push backwards. I tried pushing before, but I was just being a bitch about it... It probably would have dropped behind the grille though, so I'd have had to take the bumper off anyway (or that's what I'm telling myself).

trying to do this on my 2020 ss 1le as well. when you say push backwards to do you mean into the grill or away from it with grill removed? thanks for any info here as i do not want to pull bumper off at this point.
