Riding in the rear seat

Last night 3 men fit into my LT1. I let one of my friends drive, and i went into the rear seat that is behind the front passenger seat. He scooted the seat up enough for me to plant my legs on the floor. I am 5'10", and still had about an inch of headroom. I was surprised at how comfy I was. I was thinking the rear seat was useless. A nice surprise to discover it can be used, as long as the person back there isn't too tall. Later, the fella in the passenger seat switched with me. He is 6', and had to lean to the left a bit.

The rear seats being "unusable" is an urban legend. They're certainly more limited in terms of legroom and headroom than a Challenger, but it's quite usable for shorter people, and even taller folks for short drives.

I take my teenage kids on drives to this day with nary a complaint, even though I specifically asked them several times and they never hesitate to criticize their dad or his things (them being teenagers, yay). When they were smaller, they had plenty of room everywhere.

my biggest issue is that the front seat barely moves forward when you pull the quick release on the top of the seat for someone to climb back there. Atleast thats how the recaros are. So even if my daughter who would get in back who is a pretty small 14yr old climbing in is more of a issue then sitting back there

Our 55 lbs Chocolate Labrador she loves it back there . I fold the seat back down and lay towels and blankets down and her pillow.

Do you have legs?

I can fit my 3 kids in my ZL1…two 6th graders and a 4th grader. I have to move my seat further forward than I typically sit, but it works. The most important thing is turning off the auto seat exit, since it goes fully back to the rear seat.

Yeah, just pull parking brake after you open door. It works for me also if I move to the front, but my legs are unproportionally long and it is super uncomfortable for me.

I have had 4 adults in my 2020 multiple times and 3 in my 2023 Z. No issues. Would I drive across the country, maybe not. But a few hours no problem.

Funny thing, I was just cleaning my rear interior glass and dressing out the plastic back there. I tried sitting in the back seat and my head was definitely hitting the roof. Keep in mind I'm only 5'9" and the other obvious issue is leg room. I had the seat moved forward quite a bit, but if someone were in front of me it would be tight.

I like to think of this car as a Corvette with extra storage lol.

I'm only 5'8" and I have to lean sideways back there. And one of my friends who's shorter than me has same problem. People with longer torsos don't work too well in the backseat.

In my experience, ladies are more likely to fit since usually they have shorter torsos compared to their legs. One of my friends girlfriend is also about 5'8" and had enough headroom.

I used to run a baby seat in the rear passenger and then my wife behind me.
