Saying goodbye

Sold my '16 to Carmax this past weekend. I got $26k for it with 61,500 miles on it. It was a 1SS 6 speed with a Borla catback, Apex wheels (not even a year old), and a smashed windshield. Time to save up for a family car now.

My Camaro is already a family car Even the 14 and the 16-year-old don't complain about the back seats (and they aren't exactly the "let me suffer quietly and not tell dad" type). I get what OP is saying though, we do have a large SUV as well.

I know it's not easy, but you youngsters looking to settle down should try your best to hold onto those sportscars. A third vehicle comes in handy and when you get a date night and a break from kids it's really empowering to be reminded that you weren't always and won't always be raising babies.

I'm still kicking myself for trading my 98 Camaro convertible for a Nissan Xterra for "adulting" and "family reasons". I should have kept the Camaro and bought a used Camry.

Your mileage may vary and everyone's situation is different.

Wise words. We're a three car family now and next year will become a four car family when my younger daughter turns 16. The Camaro isn't going anywhere unless it gets replaced with a ZL1 1LE.

Agreed. The ZLE is a toy supplemented by a 2011 CTS Wagon with 110k miles that I picked up for cheap and is a fantastic family car. More cargo space than my wife's 2021 GLC300.

lucky for me i'm not plagued with sensibility. i've never had to make a decision like this. my daughter spent the first 2 years of her life being toted around in a 99 m6 ws6 on sportlines with hooker long tubes. i bought the family car last, kept the fun cars first. made my first sensible vehicle purchase this spring, my daughter is now 14 haha.
