OP I have had almost all of the Camaro options.

NPP and the Recaros are must haves to me.

In my LT1 do miss the heated seats and steering wheel.

And I miss the HUD but only for showing me directions without having to take my eyes off the road.

I had the Bose in all three and that and a sun roof to get some more air. Without it I find the Camaro interior too much like a small cave. I still had room for a helmet.

the Bose and NPP were the options I got, the larger info screen is great and NPP is simply amazing.

I bought mine with the 2nd gen ground efx package and I like the front spoiler but hate the side skirts. I would suggest buying some ZL1 style side skirts.

Strut tower brace, alloy pedals, forged wheels (lighter and stronger than cast.)

I think it's over for ordering Satin Steel in April 2022. Looks great and not as hard to clean as black or dark grey. The metallic flakes really pop in the sunlight.

I got lucky and found mine at 3400 status from a dealer order. The only options I have are the satin black wheels, spoiler, mirrors, NPP and the Tech Package. Pic for attention:

Hey all,

This is my first post on these forums, so just to give some background:

Previous cars I've owned - 2005 Mustang GT, 2015 Infiniti Q50.

I currently own a 2008 Corvette Z06 and a 1991 Mustang LX 5.0 hatchback. Looking to sell the Z06 because it's no longer possible to daily drive this car. Too many issues, too expensive to keep fixing, just not reasonable. The Corvette has been my daily, rain or shine, year round since July 2018. I've had my fun, now I want to be able to have a new vehicle, with a warranty, that I'm not afraid to depend on as transportation.

So I'm ordering a new Camaro LT1 for lease. I don't need the SS stuff because the car will be a daily driver and will never see track time aside from maybe a 1/4 mile pass or two.

Here's my build:

https://www.chevrolet.com/performanc...stalCode=33101

Brief summary: Black LT1, RS package, tech package, Recaro's, NPP, front splitter, some other stuff.

Despite the similar MSRP's, leasing this LT1 build is $173 per month cheaper than a similarly built 1SS, and quite frankly I don't need 90% of the SS cooling/track stuff.

HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS:

1. Debating on color. Growing up, I've always thought a black Camaro was the coolest possible car ever. But I'm torn between black, silver, and shadow gray metallic. Anyone have any strong opinions on how the car looks in each respective color? (WOULD LOVE TO SEE PICS) I haven't seen too many in person. Also, I think the silver color is on restriction, so will that mean it would be harder to get one in that color or it would take a lot longer? I would wash the car every 1-2 weeks so not sure if the black would look terrible when it's not super clean.

2. Debating on the ground effects package (the basic one, not the second generation one). Historically, I thought the ground effects package on the 5th gen looked atrocious, but this one seems much more subdued. Mainly curious about the side skirts - I'm getting the front splitter either way, as I think it's necessary to "set off" the look of the LT1 front bumper.

3. Any other advice? My dealership says there are no restrictions or delayed options on the build I linked to above.

Anything else I should consider?

Thanks!

Black is a beautiful color when you first wash and detail it, but as soon as a fly farts near the car, looks like you took it off-roading. I had two black vehicles in the past 20 years, and keeping those cars clean was a full time job, but a great very menacing color on the Camaro.

Given the difficulties in maintaining the appearance of black paint, and the restrictions on silver, I think I’m going to go with shadow gray metallic.

I say wait to see what new colors are going to replace the Wild Cherry and Satin Steel before placing the order. It should be any time now when GM announces the new colors as the two above are near the end of production. If not for the end of the Wild Cherry, and the fact that I like having a less common color :P I'd recommend it.

God it looks SOOOOOO GOOD on a ZL1. I don’t know if it looks quite as good on an LT1.

If you car how your car looks…. You don’t own a black car, it owns you.

Black cars always look good when someone else’s. very sinister, very sexy.

When it’s yours you’ll notice every scratch, nick, chip swirl…… I’ll never do it again. Not on a daily.

Last option I am debating is the front splitter.

Looks like the only option on a shadow gray metallic car is the second generation front splitter.

Would I be able to remove this easily without damaging anything?

Is it possible to install an aftermarket splitter without drilling holes?

I’m also debating the factory lowering springs - any thoughts?

Nothing that some wheels and the black trim around the bottom can't fix.
