Stock Front SS brake rotors are 25.8lbs.

Does anyone have the weight of the 6 piston aluminum hat rotors?

IF I am able to get my rotors off today (no pinch weld jack pad), I will weigh mine and report back.

Not really understanding why you would buy a 2ss and then trying to cut weight. If you worried about weight why not buy a 1ss in the first place?

Why buy a 2SS and then take out the insulation and carpeting of the rear? In my mind it defies the purpose of the 2ss in the first place.

ok wow reading that hurt my brain, where to start... um the 1ss and 2ss have the exact same carpeting and insulation in the rear. Either car will gain the same advantage (albeit small) from removing the weight. The 2ss has heated/cooled seats and a couple other electronic comforts over the 1ss but that's it.... not carpeting or what ever you think in fairy land. The purpose is to go faster pain and simple

I'll be gladly contributing to this thread every time I add/ remove a part

The road racing section has a 'weight of parts' sticky at the top of the page if you haven't seen it yet (not much there yet either though...)

Thought I'd give this thread a bump to see if you guys removed any more weight from the car.

I can say without a doubt the stock intake manifold is lighter than the MSD intake by several pounds. So there's that lol. Just seems like there isn't allot of meat to take off without getting into the big $$$

Will the carbon fiber trunk, hood and fenders save any weight? Other than wheels and replacing the muffler with straight pipe not much to be had
