Question How to auto dim the HUD brightness during night driving ?

I love the HUD but to my eyes it has a major bug > the brightness isn't also linked to the dash brightness for night driving. I usually keep the HUD on max brightness during daytime and each time I drive in the night I have to manually turn down the brightness.

Is there a way to dim the HUD automatically when the deadlights turn on? Eventually link it to the dash brightness control?

It is adj for brightness. To the left of the steering wheel on the dash.

I know about the button to adjust the brightness, but the HUD doesn't automatically dim at night. For example, if I leave the HUD at maximum brightness, it will stay at max even at night when the headlights turn on and the whole dash light is dimmed.

My intention is to have the HUD dimmed automatically along with all the dash lights. Is this already happening in your car? Maybe mine has a problem since the HUD brightness is only adjustable by pressing the dedicated button and doesn't respond if I adjust the dash brightness by using the turn knob.

I believe HUD brightness setting is manually adjustable only.

It is on my car, at least.

Yeah, this was a dumb oversight on GM's part. It should auto dim by a percentage at the least.

Is there a way to make a little controller and link the dash lights adjustment knob to the HUD? People have gone crazy with the wiring when it comes to audio, this little controller can't be that difficult to make.
