Fun Times....
So I was cleaning the SS and with the drivers door open and it locked- maybe I hit the lock button when I was cleaning the door panel. It then would not close as the latch would not clear the striker. I tried to use the fob and the door panel button to unlock- not working. I saw in the manual that you could pop off the handle end and use the small key in the fob to open the lock manually -still did not work.
I got a bungee for the door and set out for the dealer. Now it seems the car thinks someone is trying to steal it and it will not start. Battery is fine. No help from OnStar. Roadside Assistance could not get it started. AAA could not get it started. Car is backed into my garage and I don't want it dragged/winched out. its only one month old!!! Any Ideas? |

Try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes and try again, or talk to your dealer maybe?

when my windows got tinted i saw the tint guy moving the stricker assembly in and out to get the window to go up n down through the index of the window ... Is your window fully up or is it in the slightly lowered position .. you may need to manualy put something in there to force the striker plates into the open position

Window does not "notch" down to close but will go fully up and down with button. The problem is the latch mechanism. Tryed a screwdriver to pry it but no luck.
No luck on disconnecting the battery either. |

Try making the computer think the door is closed properly by depressing the switch that tells it the door is closed.
Then hit the fob unlock button. Just a guess.

The striker catch might be 'partially' closed - like you closed the door but it didnt close all the way. Try pushing the catch all the way in, the pulling it back out while opening the door from the inside.

There is not a switch (at least there is not one on the verts). Many of todays cars have the switch built into the latch mechanism.

BTW - are you sure the door is locked? Is the passenger door locked as well? If the passenger door is unlocked, chances are the driver is as well and its an issue with the position of the latch itself that I mentioned above.
