Rotors
Hey everyone, I have a 17' 1SS with the stock 4 piston brembos, which is brake package J6G from what I understand.
So it's time to change my brakes and rotors, I'd usually just go OEM but I've recently gotten into tracking my car, it's been a ton of fun! and was looking for recommendations on rotors, I was planning on sticking with the OEM Brembo pads, just was looking for recommendations on rotors, maybe from others here who track their cars too. If I get really into tracking I'll look into the 6 piston upgrade, but for now It's only an occasional thing. Thanks in advance! |

FYI if the rotors are above minimum thickness and not cracked, you don't need to replace them every time you change pads especially if the new pads are the same type as the old ones. Also be sure to install the plastic brake deflectors ( https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=10 ) for track days for extra front brake cooling as well as 0W-40 or 5W-40 Dexos 2 oil and high boiling point DOT 4 brake fluid per the performance supplement manual. Note that some true track pads may generate enough heat to damage the rubber front brake piston boots requiring the calipers to be rebuilt.
