Rebel rock racing #71 Watkins glen

https://rebelrockracing.co/rebel-roc...-watkins-glen/

really nice job by the team to get a decent finish on the 4 hour race Saturday. I know I saw at one point they got a drive thru penalty mid race so was a nice comeback.

TV coverage is next weekend so the youtube of the race isnt out.

Yeah, they've had some... teething issues this season. When they debuted last season, half-way through, at VIR, it was Liddell and Davis as the drivers. It was a one-car effort at the time and were showing extrmely promising results (although still re-learning the car in the midst of the other GT4 cars).

Towards the end of last year, they bought a second car and were organizing to run a two-car effort: Liddell and Davis in the #71 and Depew and another driver in the #72. Something happened with getting that other driver and the funds just weren't there to try and run the second car. So, from what I gather, Depew, being the team owner, decided to run him and Liddell, get more car/driving experience and have some sort of showing for the car.

There is supposed to be some little documentary on the team as Rebel Rock used to be highly invested into team, running primarily Porsches, and was, for some reason, disbanded. Frank Depew bought ownership and is trying to move the team name forward.

There is a back story about Rebel rock but well never no it. I think they got one of the first GT4 Porsche if I remember right.

Lidell is the key great driver. I dont really remember Davis from years past.

Little factory support from what I gather.

Here's a pic I took back in '15 at the Daytona race with both sharing the Stevenson #6 Camaro Z28.R for the Continental race which kicked off the 24HR race weekend.

GM isn’t as involved in the Camaro GT4.R as other OEMs are with their GT4 cars - the PM was let go with the thousands of other employees in Feb and GM doesn’t really focus on marketing Camaro.

Liddell and Davis were co-drivers for one of the Stevenson Z/28.R (pictured above). The second car was driven by Matt Bell and... I forget (Andy Lally?).

When the GT4.R debuted in IMSA, with Stevenson, Liddell and Bell drove. Stevenson ceased operations. Later, in 2018, Rebel Rock re-formed, bought a GT4.R and hired Liddell and Davis to drive half a season.

Lawson Aschenbach was Matt Bell's co-driver.

I think I confused Davis with Frank Depew who drove at mid Ohio and is one of the car owners and CEO of Urban Grid the main car sponsor.

Liddell had 7th fastest lap so the cars pretty competitive.

Canadian Tire race is at 1:45 on IMSA.tv. I cheat and use a VPN to watch it live.

Rebel rock qualified 32.

The Camaro GT4.R is a good car. It is competitive. Just more expensive than the other GT4 cars.
