I'm curious to hear what they've done to keep temperatures in check. My buddy's two GT350's both had big issues with overheating after only a few minutes on track.
Did they have a Tech Pack?

I was wondering the same. None of my friends with the coolers have had overheating issues.

We shall see. My principle is I am not paying over MSRP for anything. I work hard for my money and I owe it to my family and I not to stupid and give money away for no reason. I don’t have to be the first.

100% agree!
But the non track pack GT500 looks much less boy racer in profile.

GT350R vs. ZL1 (M6) Head to Head was pretty close, what the 350R lacked in HP (125hp deficit) it made up for with weight and MOST importantly tires, it was on R-Comps while the ZL1 was on the 220TW SC3s.

Now for the ZL1 1LE vs. GT500 "track pack": If/WHEN we see this comparison it will almost certainly be with the A10 instead of M6 so the DCT will be less of an advantage for the stang. Yes it will have the HP advantage over the Z but it will not have the GRIP advantage like the previous scenario, I would say that goes in favor of the Z this time, because despite popular belief I can say will 100% confidence that the SC3R is a better tire than the Cup2 and there's more of it 305/325 vs 305/315! And we all know the Alpha chassis is better than the stang chassis, the big question is weight, if it's as chunky as some people are thinking that 100HP won't be that much of an advantage as we think...

So I think in a GT500 vs ZL1 1LE A10 it will be VERY CLOSE! Could come down to the track, say Road America>GT500, Laguna Seca>ZLE, you get my point.
I completely forgot the ZLE now gets the A10! I'm no tire expert, so that didn't even cross my mind to consider the compounds. Now I'm even more excited to see this happen. Gonna be one hell of a show.

With the ZLE with the A10 will be around 3880 lbs. The GT500 will be a pig, probably over 4000 maybe 4100lbs. It will have to use all of that extra HP just to break even. Plus the torque is already less than the ZL1. The old GT500 was over 3900lbs and the 2020 is supposed to be around 200lbs more.

To make it even, both cars should run the same tires. Same amount of gas in the tank, same person driving. Not some fat ass like Matt Farah driving the ZL1 and Randy Pobst driving the GT500.

Then the real answer will be seen.

I don't think Ford releases the GT500 knowing it'll be slower than the ZLE. Ya, the base will weigh 4000+ but I wouldn't be so sure about the TP GT500. So the TQ is a bit shy of what I'd expect but that doesn't mean it won't hit 625 ft lbs from 1800 rpm on up... The DCT along with the HP is the silver bullet imo. 7500 rpm redline. This thing is gonna track.

GM fans ought to be thanking Ford for releasing this car. You'all gonna get an LT5 in a camaro now. If the comaro lives long enough I guess... Zl1's just got a whole lot cheaper in reality.

Missing front fender vents from GT350 makes this look much less special. Vents are the thing I like most about GT350 styling.

Would the LT5 fit without a dry sump? It’s pretty close up there with the LT4 lid.

I would like to think of the LT5 as the swan song for the Camaro Alpha 1.0 chassis for the next couple of years until the Camaro switches over to Alpha 2.0.

I hope so ! But this may sound crazy and never happen, but the LT5
would be great in the ZL1 chassis and just call it the new Z28 ! Thank you ! I'm still planning on a Zl1 1le hyper blue, or another color ! 2018 or 2019 model doesn't matter to me.

The other thing is ford interior will never match Chevrolet ! And you ever seen a ford out handle a chevy stock for stock ?
