Employee Pricing discount incentives - how it works ?

hello everyone,

Please help understand if employee discount incentives ( on 2021 SS 1LE is showing around $3400 ) is similar to $1000 cash back which expired in Nov ? if it is then it would be over and above any dealer discount, or supplier discount like college graduate discount? can anyone with dealer knowledge shed some light on this subject. Thanks !!

GM Employees get their cars at invoice (below MSRP) along with having set fees for the dealer/doc fees. The true GM Employee discount is better than the GM Supplier Discount and the GM Students discount, it can also stack along with other rebates as well.

Employee discounts are way less than invoice, on my order the GMS price was about $2,000.00 below invoice. Doc fees are locked at $75.00.

Looks like a 1SS is $2,500 off for Employee Pricing at least for a base car. But after that, all other discounts or rebates come off of that.

I get Gm employee pricing it’s not that much on camaro. Supplier pricing is not really worth the time to do the paper work. It’s just another rebate on top of what is already offered and it varies by vehicle

Depends.. it makes it easy to buy, you walk in hand them your GMS number and the price is locked. Little to no dock fees. My 2SS was around $4,500 off. The more options the better the discount. Plus other insensitive can be added.

I agree the supplier discount is not worth the effort. A good dealer will better the price or match it without the added paper work.

When I bought mine there were not many rebates at the time. The employee discount ended up making the “0 percent” finance program cheaper than cash rebate with low interest bank loan. I think it was like 2000 bucks at the time. Mine car is a low option 1ss so not a lot rebate on top of the base discount they give for it.

I bought a 2016 Camaro 2SS recently.

But a couple months ago when I bought it I was looking at leftover 2020 Camaro 1ss's the dealer had left over. At the time Chevy was only offering $1000 in rebates.

When I bought my 2012 5.0 in 2011 the rebates were better I recall and at the time as most know the new 5.0 was red hot.

At least here in my area of FL Ford seems to offer better rebates or incentives on the Mustang GT.

I know Camaro sales numbers suck so wouldn't you think Chevy would offer better incentives to move these cars?

Most of the Chevy dealers here in SWFL don't even like carrying Camaros on the lot and when they do it's either loaded up 2ss soft tops going for over 50k OR it's the el cheapo v6 model Camaros.

I'm scared Chevy has just given up on the Camaro. I don't understand why. It's faster, more premium than the Mustang gt. Maybe make the visibility a bit better and IMO they could easily compete for sales.

Has anyone received a private offer from GM lately? I got one in the mail in 2017 for $3k when I was ZL1 shopping. Was able to use that on my Z that I also got for invoice. But haven't seen or heard of one since. I bought a 2020 Acadia AT-4 in Oct and did get about $2k supplier discount on that, along with another $9500 off from dealer and GM discounts.
