If it is steam your seeing on start up no, if it is Oil smoke then yes. It would if you install the correct system. For you to have bad valve seals it would be extremely rare unless you recently had springs changed and the tech installed seals improperly.

What your probably seeing is the puddle of oil that settles onto the floor of the intake manifold and drains down the runners will smoke on cold start up before the cats are up to operating temp. Once the engine is warm, you may not notice this as the cats will burn it effectively.

Our E2-X Dual Valve system will not only stop 95% plus of all oil, water, raw fuel, and other contaminants from reaching the intake air charge, it also retains an emissions compliant closed system and converts the PCV system to evacuate at all times VS only when vacuum is present from the IM. The dual checkvalves will automatically open and close as needed to default to the strongest of the 2 vacuum/suction sources we use so oil remains cleaner far longer, piston rings seal better by reducing ring flutter, and blow-by is also reduced.

You have a GDI engine so no fuel makes contact with the backsides of the intake valves unlike the LS based port injection engines of the 5th gen. So as these deposits build on your intake valves this bakes onto the valves as a very hard and abrasive make-up and each cycle of the valve opening and closing pulls this abrasive coating up into the valve guide and this wears the soft guide (made of bronze alloy) and over time this allows the valves to move excessively. This can also lead to valve seal wear but generally not noticeable until 30-50k miles on the average GDI engine.

Let us know if you need more information or further explanation. Benefits are many, and you should also see 1-3 MPG improvement after installation as the system substantially reduces knock retard as well that causes timing to be pulled to combat detonation caused by the oil and other compounds.

That's very different. White smoke. You asked about a catch can - (for oil vapor) that's blue smoke.
