Eight Speed Automatic V4 or V6 Camaro 1le good enough to track?

I used to own a C7 Vette A8 automatic. Some people complained that the down shifting / upshifting via paddles was delayed. How is it in the 6th gen Camaro? I am thinking about the v4 or v6 Camaro 1le package cars with automatic. Mostly daily driving and some hpde. Ger.

There are no auto trans options for I4(not V4, this isn't a motorcycle) or V6 Camaro 1LE. SS 1LE didn't have an auto trans option up until 2021 MY, either.

I know someone who used to own an A8 V6 and he thinks his transmission is meh. I don't think it's gonna feel too different from C7's A8. Also, watch out for shudder issues.

I have a V6 with the A8. After the latest fluid and flush it's fine, but it's kind of a lazy transmission in my opinion

I'd love to try autoXing the V6 or 4cyl 1LEs. My SS doesn't suck, but these would unquestionably be faster and funner in that discipline.

Good enough to track? Absolutely.

Well-suited to frequent tracking, and being tracked hard at 9 or 10/10ths? No.
In addition to the 8-spd trans not being the best, I suspect a non-1LE will encounter overheat issues if tracked hard.

I've had a V6 with the 8 speed as a rental. The automatic is perfectly fine for normal driving, but I felt like it sucked a lot of the fun out of the car in sporty driving.

I'm sure it's "good enough" in the general sense, but I doubt "good enough" is really what you're after if you're considering a 1LE. I know I'd want the manual.

Paddle response with the A8 is no better than in the C7. You can try leaving the trans in automatic mode and activate performance shift mode to make it aggressive, just live with the somewhat laggy paddles, or get the M6 transmission.

(Some of the delay is due to the paddles' long travel. I thought about an inverted switch that would trigger a shift the moment the paddle starts moving instead of when it reaches its end of travel... maybe later when I have some time to tinker.)
