The HHP TCM installs in-place of the factory TCM and comes with factory editable calibration. However, both the ECM and TCM will require edits.

Of course this process also applies to a bunch of other cars including my old GTRs (2013, 2016). And owners of earlier model Gen 6 have been involved with this for years now.

There's a really informative post here by KingLT1 where he shows some of the edits he made. And there's great video of a Gen 6 guy testing his edited TCM.

Look at it as a trial and error process to find what the car wants. For me it's all about getting better performance down low.

So umm did you want to get rid of that 1LE spoiler for a factory one or not?

That is what I'm trying to understand better. The way I read your post was it sounds like I don't need to buy HPTuners credits to edit the TCM, and that sounds good. Chuck stated there are ECM edit that need to be made, too, which I'm trying to understand. What does that mean? Do you/Chuck mean torque edits or something altogether different? Like - balancing, for example, Minimum Spark and other such tables? I've read the procedure for the T87, and it didn't mention this kind of thing. I guess I'm trying to understand exactly what these edits are. Is that something you can comment on?

I get the trial and error process. It's like tuning the VVE/VTT tables and such.

Got the tcm installed with the base tune. So far so good. Took the car out for some half throttle pulls and felt really good. Got to log some WOT pulls to get the shift points down then should be good to go.

This is the unlocked t87a for 2017-2019 only.

The T93 is in 2020+ and they’ve found a way to remove the t93 and replace it with a modified t87a with some sorcery.

Mine's in the car waiting for the Stage X dyno/tune sessions. Then I'll do the same on E?? and take it to test/tunes and work on getting it to 60 ft. KingLT1 has provided some sound input as have some others here on the advantages of a tuned TCM and some of the relevant tables/edits

what has been changed in the modified A10 file compared to stock besides shifting points in Auto mode?

In manual mode, my ZLE sometimes shifts gracefully into the next gear, and sometimes pauses for a split second and bangs into the next gear (specifically shifting from 2nd to 3rd).

Im wondering if tuning can be done on the A10 to make it shift the way it does from 2nd to 3rd every damn time, consistently.

The "what has changed part" of this topic depends on the TCM, owner, and tuner and what they're trying to accomplish.

Wait -

If you pull the shifter to the left into manual mode, it will not upshift ever but it will down shift.

If you leave the shifter in Auto and use the paddle to downshift and go WOT, it will shift at redline and will be in performance shifting mode until you turn the engine off or go to manual.

If you leave the shifter in Auto and use the paddle to downshift and cruise along at say 50, it will shift to the next gear when it defaults back to auto in 10 sec or so.

There's too many combos.
