Engine lugging?

I’m having a weird issue on my 2018 camaro. At low rpms on any slight incline the motor will oscillate 300rpm up and down. This is relatively new and i dont know if this is nornal or i need to service it.

Could be the infamous A8 shudder.

This is exactly what my 2017 A8 was doing before it was triple flushed. It felt like the transmission was slipping and catching repeatedly.

A triple flush should fix the issue.

The triple flush has been superseded by TSB 18-NA-355 and the use of the latest (Jan 2019) Mobil1 Synthetic LV automatic transmission fluid.

If caught early enough, this alone fixes the A8 transmission shudder, if not, a torque converter replacement followed by a fill with the new fluid does.

How early is early? I’m at 45k miles right now.

Jparker, yes, it is covered by powertrain warranty. 45k miles is a lot, but you're in Arkansas where the shudder probably takes longer to develop than, say, in Florida, so there is hope. Don't forget that I'm just another owner of the same trans and not a mechanic, your powertrain components need to be diagnosed by a professional.

AFAIK the normal process is that the dealership performs the TSB (for free, don't let them coerce you into paying, and also note the TSB says no proof is required beyond customer complaint). Then you're supposed to drive the car for at least 200-250 miles, if the shudder returns, you can request torque converter replacement.

This ^

My 2016 had the shudder at 50mph and 70mph some people reported speeds of 30-40mph as well I believe

I did the triple flush, reset of Tranny, and correct fluid and no longer had the issue.

The TQ Converter replacement is if you let it go to long from what my understanding was but just replacing the TQ Converter didn't resolve the issue it was the tranny fluid in particular as it was the wrong viscosity for the tranny.
