New recall on GM CAI received today

I thought I read before it was about emissions. I wouldn't get it fixed. Leave it alone.

Sounds like dealers are not installing the ECM flash that comes with the kits.

My car was flagged, too. Truth to be told, I don't even remember where that CAI is, I sold it a long time ago... will ask a dealership if they can mark it as done for me.

yeah I agree. makes me rethink ordering a car with it. what's the point if dealer isn't going to install the tune / ECM flash that it comes with

It’s strange that the notice said nothing about Camaros with the performance intake being recalled. Only intakes installed on trucks.

What’s weirder is they dont offer it for 2021 LT1. Ive bought a 2020, waiting to install. I went back and forth with dealer trying to get ECM done. Finally figured out couldnt because the mothership wont offer a CAI for 2021 vehicles unless installed from factory. Weak. SO my GM performance CAI spec’d for exact car voids warranty because of Uncle Biden and teams hate for ICE. : (

Yet Uncle Joe owns ICE cars including an old Vette.

I'm pretty sure part of the reason it's so expensive is because of the tune that should be installed. That's the only reason IMO to get the factory one. Factory warranty isn't voided
