Race stars and M/Ts Vs stock tires and rims weight .

Stock rear tires and rims ( Goodyear run flats 20 inch ) 61 pounds each..

Race star 17/10.50 rim with M/T 305/45/17 tires 47 pounds each ..

For two rear tires that is a weight saving of 28 pounds of rotating weight ..

That should add up to about 84 pounds rotating weight .. Maybe a bit less if you don't use the 3 times the weight rule ..Some feel 3 times the weight is a bit high and use 2 1/2 times the weight .. Either way it a good bit of weight savings ..

Did you weigh those Race Stars, or going from a catalog? I ask because I know someone who has that setup, 17x10.5 Race Star (black finish) with MT ET Street R 305/45-17 on them. He got a weight of just over 56 pounds on his scale.

I used my scale that I use for my shipping UPS and FedEx .. This are the Recluse race stars 17x10.50 and not the Five star wheels .. Don't know if that makes a difference , I never looked at the weights when I ordered them ..
