Well I’m 3800 but figured I’d ask my dealer if there’s any eta and they tell me my car is waiting for a chip. Please don’t let this be a repeat of what happened to the 2021s ����

I'm really hoping they are wrong on that for you and everyone else waiting for their cars. Seems unlikely given most articles written lately have said the chip shortage is getting better and new shifts are opening up. I didn't think they were building 22s unless they had everything they needed.

I think they’re just trying to get me to leave them alone. My dealer doesn’t like me much for challenging them in the beginning with info I learned here. I tracked my order through the shipping company and it says it’s paired and ready to ship to the rail yard..

Haha ya you're probably right. I find it pretty amusing that certain info obtained on this forum related to orders is much more accurate than from the dealers themselves. It might be that they simply don't care enough about one of many of their orders to look into it in detail while obviously we do everything we can to figure out exactly what is going on with our specific car. I'm in paired status right now (for the second time) with my dealer noted as location as the truck is supposed to drive it straight there from the factory. Dealer told me yesterday that they are being told "the next few days" for arrival. Not holding my breath as that was the case last week as well. I didn't get a "waiting for a chip" answer though so that's something ha.

Yes, because they have so many new cars coming and going at the moment. Sarcasm aside, I think they are either lazy, or ignorant to how the entire system works, or a combination of the two. The dealership I am dealing with just tells me "nothing new going on." When I ask if they have any idea when their allocation slot might be available they tell me they have no idea, but asked if they will get an allocation slot they answer with absolute certainty.

...you've been sitting at 1100 since 9/9? Might be risky, but might be beneficial to start shopping around for allocations...or reach out to Joe.

This is mostly true! I decided to speak with another dealer thats a little further away from my original one just to see how they handled things and dealt with questions. I was pleasantly surprised that they seemed to be much more on top of whats going on. My current dealer only says: "They arent really building many Camaros and your order still hasnt been accepted". They dont say why(its the V6 constraint), they just dont want to deal with it. Glad I only gave them $200 refundable dollars!

So, this new dealer is WAY better. Right away the girl I worked with knew about all the constraints & also double-checked for me that if I changed to a Turbo 4 engine that my order could be placed and the lead time is 3-4 months. She verified that no other options I chose would block any order. And they will match the other dealers refundable $200 deposit requirement to place an order once I asked them about it. So, it certainly varies from dealer to dealer. If you are NOT getting good info or the brush off, dont be afraid to check with other dealers!

Just tracked my order with the transport company and my car was delivered from the plant to the railyard at 3:36pm today. So yep more bullshit the dealer has fed me that I figured out via this forum. Has been a TON of that along the way and they sure as hell don’t like being called on it. Oh well, hopefully I see the car sooner than later!

I've thought about it, but the combination of winter is coming so I don't really need a Camaro to show up before April, and knowing production is improving, has led me to believe that just showing some patience will do me well here. I mean, it is a 2022 model year car I ordered and it still only 2021. Plus, I live in a state where the value of a trade in can be used to reduce the taxes owed on a new car. I am not sure I would get that if I did business with Joe, but at the same time, it is good to know I can always fall back to working with him, worse case scenario.

Time will only tell though.
