Bored of the power already.. time to make some jam

Two months ago I added a Rotofab intake, DSX flex fuel sensor & dyno tune from MSorian, my 1LE made 580whp/541wtq on 93 & 598whp/554wtq on E60 blend. Sorian said he couldn't really push the timing too much because the stock cats would blow out, I was completely fine with that and the car has been great.. but I'm a bit used to the power now.

Fast forward 2 months.. my new bolt ons just arrived! CSP headers, ATI damper & 9.17 lower pulley, Weapon-X heat exchangers and one step colder NGK plugs. It'll all go on this weekend and back to Sorian she goes next week! Any guesses on how much whp/wtq she'll make now?

I'd be careful running E60 with all the mods you're putting on if you don't have an aux. pump or JMS voltage booster. You'll likely run outta fuel. Probably still put down 640-650whp though!

The old adage is to decide at the outset what you want your car to be and do it the first time. However, I prefer a car that allows for future mods. Of course our LT4 short block is a major limiter but it's hard to step into a billet short block at the outset.

Agreed. Low side is the first to go and will screw up the rest when it does. JMS is a good way to go unless you're planning for over 800 WHP down the road...in which case go with triple in tank pumps and get it over with.

How is an LT4 short block a limitation? What is the power level that you should consider a forged bottom end?

Lol, lt4 short block a major limiter? And then the logical step up is a billet block?

Anyways, watch those fuel pressures.

I have no personal experience with the limits of this particular short-block and can only say that Hennessey believes that it must be rebuilt for 1000hp and up. My experience with the LS1 short block was that it had comparable limits.

I have similar mods and you can maybe run e40 max. Guessing 655 RWHP

Matt used a pretty stingy dyno. I say 620/640 on 93 and 650/670 on e40 without low side booster. Hope you are going catless tho?

I’d push an LT4 shortblock without thinking twice. The issues I’ve seen are few and far between. Usually over 1000 wheel and/or a tuning issue are what do them in.
